Stella 2014 Chardonnay

This wine is from the Coombsville AVA in Napa Valley.  The cool evening breezes off the San Pablo Bay create a cool, long, and slow ripening condition for this vineyard.  The soils are rocky and well drained bringing soft acid and a silky texture to this wine.  We keep the wine in 40% new French oak barrels for 14-15 months bringing added complexity to the core fruit.

The aromas are rich with maple, dried apricot and honeysuckle leading the charge.  A multi-layered mid palate includes cereal grains, fig, white nectarine, and wet stone minerality, and a holiday spice note.  The finish is long and juicy with mouthwatering acid and clean toasty oak.
